Entrust SafeNet Authentication Client is middleware that enables operating systems and applications to work with SafeNet/Thales eTokens and smart cards used with Entrust digital certificates. It installs the necessary drivers and cryptographic providers (PKCS#11, Microsoft CAPI/CNG) and includes tools to initialize tokens, manage PINs, and view or import certificates. Organizations deploy it to support certificate‑based authentication, digital signatures, secure email, VPN access, and other PKI workflows.
